Jumping in the car with the family and making my way over to
the beautiful clifftop restaurant Amante.
The sky was blue – the sea was sparkling and the view from the top
balcony was just perfect.
It was the inaugural day for Amante 2010 – the opening party
and first day for David Piccioni and his team of this year. The knowledge of a new chef on board left
our tastebuds tingling in anticipation as our dinner was served.
The starters were phenomenal – with the salmon tartar and
spaghetti vongole proving popular, followed by the chipirones (squid), seafood
stew and a juicy steak. All cooked
to perfection leaving a happy table – and washed down with Ibizcus wine.
Then we followed the sun down to the lower terraces, where
Steve Harris was playing some pretty cool stuff and caught up with friends
until day turned to night and the party heated up.
Amante is well worth a try for stunning views, fantastic
food and a great laid-back atmosphere.
