And effort was definitely made with an uber glam crowd showcasing their coolest looks and highest heels putting their best Louboutin clad feet forward.
With two meal sittings at 20.30 and 23.30 – the early guys having the advantage of a calmer dining experience, while the 23.30 crowd were mobbed by the overflowing bar areas while they were trying to eat! …. Although the inside tables were your best bet as they were definitely a lot less chaotic. The menu served some of the KM5 favourites as the set choices – including the gorgeous fillets of beef that they are so popular for. To dine on opening night personally widens the whole nights experience - but it is not the date to dine at KM5 if you want a wider choice of food and more attentive service.
In the garden, the Yurts and Bedouin tents were filling up as Champagne and Vodka was served to the low lit tables - while the inside bar was jumping along to Resident DJ Graham Sahara. Cavas and Cocktails were flowing quickly and easily in the garden bars with a good steady service.
Within a couple of hours it was getting impossible to move with even FocY Fum finding it hard to navigate with their unfair advantage of being extra tall to see over the crowd – although nobody would have fancied one of those guys falling on their heads so tried to keep the way clear for them through the tables and feet!
The parking attendants were in force - admittedly making a ham-fisted attempt of getting us all parked – while around 60 cars were lined up along the roadside just outside – along with the Police who had a strong prominence, so by 4am as it was winding down it was time to pick up a taxi (pre-booked of course) and hang my party shoes up for another night.
